As an artist, I am very much attracted to doing works that seem to have a sense of place or convey the individuality of an animal. Primarily an animal artist, I’m also drawn to landscapes or subjects that resonate with me, such as the mountains of Wyoming and Montana and the history and beauty of Ireland.
With landscapes I work to capture a sense of place and what is special about a place’s location, or history, or mood. When doing an work with animals or a portrait, I want to render a sense of its individuality and personality. In both cases, what I hope to achieve is a piece of work that says the subject of the work is unique
